Independent for corporate governance, family law reform, industrial relations, parliamentary reform, & citizen initiated referendums
There needs to be big changes with many issues affecting ordinary Australians. A fairer system needs to be implemented and achieved for all. Families need to be put first, ahead of politics and corporate greed—the children must be protected. War veterans have had a bad deal fighting the government for fair compensation. The elderly also suffer with increasing costs and long waiting lists for nursing homes, medical and dental treatment. Government departments and businesses must be held accountable.
Too many companies have collapsed and the workers and their families have suffered as a result of poor or deliberate mismanagement. Remember the big C.E.Os. that walk away with huge payouts, while workers are lucky to get their full entitlements? I have been a “blue collar” worker all my life, working in many different types of industries, and belonged to many different unions, youth groups, and organisations. Many politicians lack appropriate work experience!
As an independent I will set up a committee of people who will meet with me once a month to work on issues and policies, and assist me to achieve our goals. The committee members will be voluntarily voted in by other people from my electorate. Any interested individuals can nominate to be on the committee, which will have a yearly election.
I will work with as many people as possible; students, organisations, businesses, unions, government departments, the Employee Ombudsman, church groups, people of all socio-economic backgrounds, all nationalities and religious organisations, other committees, and social and ethnic clubs. Having a wide cross section of all people working with me is a neccessary prerequisite.
I believe politicians have been on the “gravy train” for too long—voting themselves pay increases, more travel “rorts”, and the like, etc. People must demand more from their politicians, and the pollies must demand less from us. Politicians should not get exorbitant pensions, early superannuation, etc. Being an independent means that my loyalties will be with the people's wishes, not party politics. Politicians must be made more accountable for the promises they break, there should be more proper scrutiny on important issues.
Should you have any concerns, ideas, issues, or policies affecting yourself, your family or friends, your community groups, church organisations, or your businesses, please let me know, and I will endeavour to do my very best to address your issues of concern.
Vote for fairness and common sense.
